Kumara and Marmalade Bread

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 well beaten eggs
1 1/4 cups cooked, mashed kumara
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp lemon juice
2 cups flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup orange marmalade
3 unpeeled orange slices

Preparation Instructions
Cream the butter, add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, kumara, milk and lemon juice; beat well. Sift the flour, baking powder and salt together. Add the dry ingredients to the mixture and stir in chopped nuts. Spread the orange marmalade over the bottom of the pan and arrange the orange slices on top. Turn the kumara mixture onto the marmalade base and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 1 1/2 hours. Cool then slice.
